Asked Questions
Armenian Wine Week is an annual global awareness initiative dedicated to celebrating Armenian wine. The goal of Armenian Wine Week is to introduce more people around the world to one of the oldest winemaking traditions on Earth, encouraging them to discover, enjoy, and share Armenian wines.
During Armenian Wine Week, wineries, importers, distributors, retailers, restaurants, wine educators, tourism organizations, Armenian community groups, media outlets, and wine enthusiasts create and participate in educational and promotional activities, the cornerstone of which is the #UncorkArmenia Challenge.
The initiative supports the continued growth of Armenia’s wine industry and the thousands of families whose livelihoods depend on viticulture, winemaking, and wine tourism.
Today, Armenian wines remain largely unknown outside the region. That's where Armenian Wine Week comes in.

Armenian Wine Week is observed every year during the second week of November.
2026 dates:
November 8–14, 2026.

International Areni Day is celebrated annually on the second Saturday of November in honor of Areni, Armenia’s flagship indigenous red grape variety.
Known for its elegance, bright acidity, and ability to express Armenia’s mountainous terroir, Areni has become an international symbol of the country’s modern wine renaissance.
The annual celebration encourages wine professionals and consumers alike to explore wines made from this historic grape and to learn more about Armenia’s rich winemaking heritage.
2026 date: Saturday, November 14, 2026.

The most important driver of the Armenian Wine Week is the #UncorkArmenia Challenge.
#UncorkArmenia brings attention to Armenian wine culture through a simple, repeatable challenge: share a bottle, spread the word.
No complex rules. No barriers. Just wine and connection.
The goal is to introduce Armenian wines to those who never tried it.
The #UncorkArmenia Challenge calls on every Armenian, wherever they are in the world, to buy two bottles of Armenian wine, give one bottle to a non-Armenian friend and challenge three Armenian friends to do the same!
The #UncorkArmenia Challenge is a simple grassroots campaign designed to introduce Armenian wine to new consumers through sharing and personal recommendations.
Participants are invited to:
1. Buy two bottles of Armenian wine.
2. Gift one bottle to a non-Armenian friend, colleague, or neighbor.
3. Challenge three Armenian friends to do the same.
The campaign is intended to encourage discovery through hospitality while expanding awareness of Armenian wine worldwide.
