What is Armenian
Wine Week?

Armenian Wine Week is an annual global celebration of one of the world’s oldest wine cultures. For seven days each November, wine lovers, restaurants, shops, wineries and importers across dozens of countries open, pour, pair and post Armenian wines together.

From the volcanic highlands of Vayots Dzor to wine bars in Los Angeles, Paris and Dubai, the week connects a 6,100-year-old tradition with a new generation of drinkers and it all ends with a single synchronized toast on International Areni Day.

What is International Areni Day?

Held on the second Saturday of November every year, International Areni Day marks the culmination of the Armenian Wine Week. It is the annual global celebration of the Areni grape and Armenian wine in general. On this day, Armenians and their friends around the globe raise a glass of Armenian wine.

In 2026 this day falls on November 14th.

What is the UncorkArmenia Challenge?

The most important driver of the Armenian Wine Week is the UncorkArmenia Challenge. UncorkArmenia brings attention to Armenian wine culture through a simple, repeatable challenge: share a bottle, spread the word.

The goal is to introduce Armenian wines to those who never tried it.

UncorkArmenia Challenge calls on every Armenian, wherever they are in the world, to buy two bottles of Armenian wine, gift one bottle to a non-Armenian friend and challenge three Armenian friends to do the same!

No complex rules. No barriers. Just wine and connection.

Who organizes Armenian Wine Week?

Armenian Wine Week is a grassroots initiative conceived by WineArmenia.org. Its mission is to elevate Armenia's ancient viticultural heritage on the world stage, fostering connection and discovery.

Supported by the Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia and a network of Armenian organizations worldwide, it unites Armenians worldwide, wine enthusiasts, and industry partners in a shared global toast to Armenia.
